BOOK REVIEW

The Dead Returns is a Japanese mysteries novel written by Akiyoshi Rikako (Indonesian translated by Haru publisher). The story is telling about a young Japanese male student named Koyama Nobuo. He had a gloomy look, very introverted person, doesn’t talk much with his classmates except his classmates best friend, Tanaka Yoshio, and cold looking personality. But inside from the outside his look, Koyama is really kind and likes to help each other. Because he and his only best friend, Tanaka has weird and not fun reading train schedule magazine hobby, their friends always ignore him and ostracize him in class.

One day, he found a strange letter send from anonymous in his table in class. That strange letter was ordered him to come to the cliff near the east coast at exactly midnight when no one was passing by. After that, somebody dropping of him from cliff. Koyama fall down from very high cliff. His head was very injured than his eyes start to close. When he wake up he noticed he was inside other handsome young man body named Takahashi Shinji. Because they’re both same age and same grade, Koyama inside Takahashi’s body return came back to his high school to find the murderer.

Many obstacles, and mysteries Koyama found until he found the real truth that he never expected. People people who lived side him was make his brain washed.

I really like the author who always missed making new mysteries and plot twist every chapter I read. I was confused and excited read this. The word and sentence author use is easy to get understand. High school student’s problems is always to get in real life high schooled. I recommended it for readers who likes reading novel with mysteries, never expected plot twist ending, and taking genre about problems that always founded in real life. Also I really like how Akiyoshi Rikako make the ending plot.

Characters that I like is the main character of this story, Koyama Nobuo. He never give up until him knowing the truth of the mysteries problem. He always know the strategic to solve them. He has kind and soft true personality. But his classmates is so cruel and rude with him. They’re always ignore he and his best friend. I so disappointed with Koyama’s classmates. I hope they’re not looking from the cover outside of Koyama but look from his deep inside heart.  

The Dead Returns is the one of the best book I read ever. Hope you guys can read and enjoy this book too. It never makes people feel disappointed to read it.
